Delaware Life was notified by its third-party vendor, Pension Benefit Information, LLC (known as PBI Research Services or PBI), that our customer data in PBI’s possession was subject to unauthorized access in connection with a global security incident involving the MOVEit Transfer software. This incident has impacted hundreds of companies around the world.

Progress Software Corporation’s MOVEit Transfer software is a managed file transfer software used by thousands of organizations worldwide. It supports the secure exchange of files and data between organizations.
Progress Software recently disclosed that a vulnerability in its MOVEit Transfer software had been exploited by cybercriminals. Like many organizations, PBI utilizes MOVEit Transfer to securely transfer information on behalf of its clients. PBI then informed Delaware Life that certain of our customer data was stored within its impacted MOVEit Transfer server which had been unlawfully accessed.
PBI is a third-party vendor used by Delaware Life to satisfy regulatory obligations to identify the death of insureds and contract holders to determine if benefits are payable. PBI is a leading provider to insurance companies of these services.
Name, date of birth, Social Security number, and the Delaware Life contract or policy number.
If your personal information was exposed, you will receive a notification letter from PBI. PBI is offering our impacted customers two years of free credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration through Kroll, LLC. The notice from PBI will include instructions on how to enroll in Kroll’s services. We also will mail a letter to your agent/producer of record, notifying them of this PBI/MOVEit incident and its impact on you.
Kroll is a global leader in risk mitigation and response, and their team has extensive experience helping people who have sustained an unintentional exposure of confidential data. Kroll was engaged by PBI to establish a dedicated assistance line for individuals who may have questions about this incident.
PBI notified federal law enforcement shortly after learning of the event.
